ABI 7700 Real-Time PCR Instrument
The 7700 uses a 10 mW Argon Ion Laser, a 64x512 Pixel CCD detector, and the proven technology of a 9600 thermal cycler. The software is Mac based and fully controls the experiments and collects and reports the data.

ABI 7900HT High Throughput Real-Time PCR Instrument
The ABI PRISM® 7900HT Sequence Detection System uses a Peltier-based thermal cycling system (same as the one with ABI 9700 Thermal Cycler) and an 488 nm argon-ion laser excitation source. The interchangeable 96- and 384-well block capability combined with the optional Automation Accessory offers unmatched flexibility and throughput. Sample tracking is greatly simplified with the use of hand-held and integrated bar-code readers. These features make the 7900HT system ideally suited to meet the high-throughput requirements of todays drug discovery laboratories or clinical applications.

The 5700 employs a 150 watt Tugsten-halogan bulb, a CCD detector, and a 9600 Thermal Cycler. The software provides full system control, data acquisition and processing and runs on Windows NT 4.0.
